Dwight Kotila
Background
Coach Kotila is the Director of Athletics at Century College, and also teaches in the Physical Education Department.
He received his Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Education, and Masters of Science Degree (M.S.) in Physical
Education and Sport Science from St. Cloud State University.
Collegiate Coaching Career
Dwight Kotila begins his 3rd year as Head Baseball Coach at Century, and 16th season overall as a head coach
(450-169-1 .727).
In his previous 15 seasons as head coach, Kotila:
- coached 2 different NJCAA baseball programs to 7 appearances at the NJCAA World Series (Riverland CC - '98; Ridgewater - '02, '03, '05, '06, '07, '08), including a national runner-up finish in 2005.
- coached teams to 10 divisional championships, and 7 Region XIII championships.
- is a nine-time MCAC Southern Division Coach of the Year.
- is a seven-time NJCAA Region XIII Coach of the Year.
Coach Kotila has had 3 former players drafted, and has had over 100 players receive scholarships to play at four-year
schools, ranging from NCAA Div. I, II, and NAIA. He has also had 8 current or former
players invited to play in the Northwoods League, one of the premiere summer college baseball leagues in the country.
International Games
Coach Kotila has also served as the Head Baseball Coach for USA Athletes International for the past 8 summers.
He guided the USA team to 1st and 2nd (twice) place finishes in the Australian Baseball Classic played on the Gold
Coast and in Sydney, Australia.
He also coached the USA Athletes baseball team to 1st and 2nd place finishes in Rouen Open, France,
and a first place finish in tournaments in Holland (2005) and Aruba (2010).
