English Language Game: "Sentence Rummy"
Overview: Century College English instructor Sandra Block
received a grant to create a game to assist entry level college students
with English skills development and proficiency in sentence structure.
Once deployed, this game will be part of a study to determine the game’s
effectiveness in helping students learn sentence structure.
Audience: Century College students in developmental English courses.
eMagine Role: Collaborated with English instructor to develop design and flash
programming for interactive game.
Delivery: This course is available within the Century College Desire2Learn (D2L)
Learning Management System to registered participants.
Results: A complex game that offers students the opportunity to make sentence
combinations with thousands of variables. Students receive immediate feedback on
sentence construction.
