In Century's Nursing Assistant program, you'll learn basic nursing care, along with specifics about nursing home, hospital
and home healthcare employment. Topics covered include:
- communication
- safety issues
- vital signs
- nutrition
- homemaking responsibilities
- client personal hygiene
- comfort, and more.
Prerequisites
You must be 16 years of age.
General information
Your skills package must be purchased before the first day of class. PPD or chest X-ray should also be done before the first day of class.
If the note "NATB" appears, the instructor requires you to purchase a textbook.
Clinical information
For all NA classes, clinical visits are typically held during the final week of each course section.
However, these times will vary and may change. Clinical visits may be on weekends, holidays or evenings. In addition, clinical visits may end before or extend beyond the last date of class listed on the web or in the course catalog.
You are required to attend all clinical visits to successfully complete the course.
Acute Care Skills for the Nursing Assistant
This training will give Nursing Assistants the skills needed to work in acute care settings in hospitals, extended care facilities and hospices.
Course Prerequisites
Complete and pass a nursing assistant course.

Nursing Assistant Competency Exam
This course is offered to qualified candidates seeking placement on the MN Department of Health Registry, as required for employment in most nursing homes. The EXAM is scheduled by registration only.
