Commercial buildings and schools most often utilize low-pressure boilers.
Our course is designed to provide boiler operators with training on low-pressure
boilers and their safe operation; in addition, steam and hot water boiler operation
are also covered.
Qualifications
In order to obtain a Second Class Low Pressure Boiler Operators License (Class C), you must hold
a Special Engineers License for at least one year, be employed in a facility operating a low pressure
boiler, and pass a test administered by the
MN Department of Labor, Division of Boiler Inspection.
Once you have your Second Class Low Pressure Boiler Operators License, you can obtain a First Class
Low Pressure Boiler Operators License (Class B) by working an additional 2 years in the field and passing
the test.
To obtain the Chief Low Pressure Boiler Operators License (Class A), you need 2 additional
years of work in the field (4 years total after obtaining the Second Class License) and you
need to pass the test.

- Chief Low Pressure Boiler
Costs
Approximate cost is $249. One textbook is required, available at the
Century College bookstore, costing approximately $55.
