First Year Experience (FYE) Workshop Series
The FYE Workshop Series is a free program designed to help new students as they transition to college.
Based on the GPS LifePlan, this 6-week experience assists students with building the skills and relationships
that will help them be more successful in college.
FYE is designed to best assist first semester students who have tested into college level reading (Reading 1000).
However, no student will be turned away as the FYE Workshop Series has something to offer all new Century students.
Each FYE group is led by a Century College Student Services professional staff member and a Student Ambassador.
The combined experience of the staff member and the Student Ambassador gives FYE students the benefit of a lot of higher education knowledge and student experience,
which helps students with their first semester.
Offered Twice a Year
The FYE Workshop Series is offered during the fall and spring semesters. Groups will meet once a week for 50 minutes
for the first 6 weeks of the semester.
Workshop topics include:
- Getting Connected to the Campus Resources
- Clubs and Organizations on Campus
- Understanding Your Learning Style
- Figuring Out How to Manage Your Time
- Using the GPS LifePlan to Set Goals
During your Registration Session you will have an opportunity to sign up for a time that fits your schedule.
