Online courses

Start by reading Welcome to Online Learning for additional tips and information.

Century offers two types of online courses:

  • Online - These are Internet-delivered courses and are fully online.
  • Blended - These are online and campus-based courses and are sometimes referred to as "online-some seat time".

Finding online and blended-online courses is easy. Both course types are listed under each discipline in the schedule each semester. Online and blended courses are highlighted, along with a statement below each course description.

Searching for courses

  • Click Browse Courses to find web-based classes.
  • Under the Basic Search function, choose a delivery mode--either online (web-only) or online (some time on-site).
  • Delivery mode is indicated following each course listing, and is also included in the "Notes" section of the full course description.

Course delivery

All or some of your courses will be delivered online utilizing Desire2Learn(D2L).

Unless your instructor has indicated otherwise, you will be able to login and enter your online classroom on the first day of the semester or on the first day of your class.

Please note: Century's online courses are not independent-study courses. It is our goal to make your online learning experience effective, as well as enjoyable. Like any course, you'll get as much out of this learning experience as you are willing to put into it.

READI

READI is a web-based assessment tool for determining students’ level of readiness for taking online or blended courses. The assessment takes about 20 minutes.

After completion, you'll receive a report with customized feedback and targeted resources itemizing your strengths and weaknesses in preparation for online learning.
