Established in 2008, the Century Leadership Institute provides students with an opportunity to explore their leadership potential in a small group setting.

The Leadership Institute consists of a ten week-long interactive program designed to challenge, enhance, and develop personal, professional, and career-related skills.

Each week, students participate in an 75 minute-long workshop designed to support the specific mission of the Leadership Institute. The workshops provide insight on how to become an effective leader and are highly informative and participatory. The topics covered include:

  • Conflict Management
  • Dealing with Difficult People
  • Effective Networking Techniques
  • Ethical Leadership (participants will receive a copy of the book "The Radical LEAP" by Steve Farber)
  • Exploring Cultural Identity
  • Leadership and Personality Style (includes the StrengthsQuest inventory)

In addition to workshops, students will be introduced to eFolio, a electronic portfolio designed to showcase personal and educational accomplishments. Each student enrolled in the Leadership Institute will be required to activate an eFolio account.

In order to accommodate academic schedules, two workshop tracks are offered each semester. When applying for membership, students will be able to select a date and time that works best with their schedule.
