Assessment Testing for Transfer Students

To ensure academic success at Century College, you are required to meet college readiness placement requirements and complete assessment tests if necessary. The College Board placement test, Accuplacer, assesses skill levels for college placement.

Required assessments for Century include: English Composition, Mathematics and Reading.

Test results determine appropriate course placement and ensure completion of course prerequisites.

All transfer students including students who have earned a degree at another college/university or institution, must meet Century's assessment testing requirements and course prerequisites prior to orientation and registration.

Students transferring college-level courses in English, Math and Reading or who have earned an Associate of Arts or Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited, United States college or university may not need to complete some parts of the assessment.

To determine if you have completed transfer coursework that would waive you from needing to complete all or part of the assessment tests, contact Transfer Student Services or 651.779.3908.
