Transfer students are encouraged to attend an Advising and Registration Session as well as the Welcome Day. Since no two schools are alike, you will find lots of useful information to help you acclimate to the Century College environment.

Online Orientation Option

Our orientation team understands that your busy schedule may prevent you from attending an on-campus orientation.

For those who qualify (below), an online orientation is an option:

  • Transfer Students:

Students who are currently taking or have taken college-level courses at another college/institution and plan to transfer credits to Century.

  • Reverse Transfer Students:

A student who plans to take a course(s) at Century College to transfer back to the college/university he/she is currently attending.

  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree Attained:

Students who have earned a degree at another institution.

Online Orientation Requirements

Before you will be allowed to view Century’s online orientation, you must complete the following requirements:

  • Official Transcripts

If you plan to complete a degree/program at Century College, you must send an official college transcript(s) from each college/university you previously attended. The transcript must be mailed to/dropped off at the Transfer Student Services Office in a sealed envelope directly from the college/institution.

Please plan ahead, as it may take up to two weeks to receive a transcript from another institution. Transcripts may be mailed to:

Century College – Transfer Student Services
    3300 Century Avenue N
    White Bear Lake, MN 55110

If you have attended or are currently attending a Minnesota State College or University, please see the eTranscript information below.

  • Unofficial Transcripts

If you are a reverse transfer student or plan to take one course or just a few courses and do not intend to complete a degree/program at Century College, you may provide an unofficial or student copy of your transcript(s) from each college/university you previously attended to determine if you meet Century’s assessment testing requirements and course prerequisites.

Unofficial transcripts are not retained by Century College once you provide them.

  • Accuplacer Assessment Testing

All transfer students must meet Century's assessment testing requirements for Reading, Writing, and Mathematics and course prerequisites prior to registering for courses at Century College. Students transferring college-level courses in English, Math and Reading or who have earned an Associate of Arts or Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited, United States college or university may not need to complete some parts of the assessment.

To determine if you have completed transfer coursework that would waive you from completing all or part of the assessment tests, you must provide your transcript(s) from the college or university you previously attended.

Transfer Credits

u.select

Prior to orientation, you may review how some of your courses or credits will transfer to and from Century College by clicking u.select and choosing the option “equivalencies by school”.

Hundreds of college and university courses, Advanced Placement, CLEP, International Baccalaureate and military credits are accessible through u.select.

eTranscripts

If you have attended or are currently attending one or more MnSCU institution(s), not including the University of Minnesota, and have applied to Century College, your official transcripts from that MnSCU institution may be electronically retrieved by Century College.

There is no cost for this service. Transcripts will not be able to be electronically retrieved if you have holds on your records from the MnSCU institution you previously attended including, but not limited to, unpaid balances. It is your responsibility to ensure that your records are free of holds in order for institutions to send or electronically retrieve your academic transcript.

When to Notify Century

You must notify the Century College DARS and Transfer Student Services Office when your records have been cleared for retrieval.

Please contact the DARS and Transfer Student Services Office by email or call (651) 779-3908 to verify whether your transcript(s) is available. You must also notify the DARS and Transfer Students Services Office.
