About the Program

To what extent are our attitudes shaped by the media, government, schools and our family? What barriers still exist to full equality between the sexes and why? These are just a few of the key questions you will explore in Century's Women and Gender Studies program. Our Women and Gender Studies program will help you learn about yourself as you explore new ways of looking at the world and reflect on your beliefs, values, actions, and relationships.

This nationally-recognized academic program will foster your intellectual curiosity and will:
  • complement any major or career path intellectually and professionally through the perspectives and skills gained in Women and Gender Studies courses.
  • help you acquire highly-valued knowledge and skills such as public speaking, writing, critical thinking, and an expanded world view.

All new students must apply and be accepted to the college, take the college assessment test and attend an orientation prior to attending classes at Century College. Some programs have an additional application (i.e. Nursing, Radiologic Technology, etc.). Admission has become highly competitive for some programs and the college may not be able to admit all students who meet the minimum admission requirements for the program. Consult with an Admissions Representative or the Program Guide/application for further information. If you have any questions, please contact the Admissions Office.
