Orthotic and Prosthetic Clinical Applications

This program requires a general College application and a program-specific application. See below for application steps and important dates.

Delivery: O&P Fitter AAS degree: Morning, afternoon or evening classes, M-F.
Start: O&P Fitter AAS degree courses: Fall, Spring, or Summer; Full- or Part-Time.

Delivery: OPCA Assistant Diploma: Day classes, M-F.
Start: OPCA Assistant Diploma: Fall start only; Full-Time.

Prerequisite and General Education/MnTC courses are available in a mix of daytime, evening, and online classes; Fall, Spring, and Summer; Full- or Part-Time.


About the Program

Admission to the OPCA Diploma program requires a special application and is highly competitive. The college may not be able to accept all applicants who meet the minimum admission standards. Students who earn the Orthotic and Prosthetic Clinical Applications Diploma will meet the requirements to be employed as an Orthotic/Prosthetic Assistant or enter a Baccalaureate degree or a Master’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics.

Students will:

  • Transform people’s lives with a career that blends science, technology, healthcare, and artistic design
  • Care for patients with conditions of the limbs and spine by fabricating devices known as braces (orthoses)
  • Provide care for patients with a partial or total absence of a limb by fabricating artificial limbs (prostheses)

Transfer Agreement

Century College’s Orthotic and Prosthetic Practitioner Programs have transitioned to a Master’s Degree in partnership with Concordia University. Details are available online at Concordia University’s Master of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics  (MSOP) program. Century College courses are a required prerequisite.
