As the newest member of the Century community, we welcome you and your family to Century College.
New Student Orientation will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about Century’s programs and services as well as time to interact with current students, faculty, and staff.
Our goal is for you to have everything you need for a successful beginning at Century College.
Three-part program
As a new student, you'll be able to enjoy the college and succeed academically if you know the campus. New Student Orientation is a mandatory, three-hour program that includes:
-
Century College welcome and overview
You'll be given an overview of the college and other important information to
make your first semester at Century a success. You'll also be introduced to
Century's GPS LifePlan, a powerful tool to help you analyze and determine
your career, academic, and personal goals.
Start planning now! Visit the
GPS LifePlan website.
-
An opportunity to meet other Century College students and prepare for registration
Staff, counselors, faculty, and student ambassadors will introduce you to campus resources and activities in a small group setting. You'll meet other students and prepare for registration by reviewing course offerings and assessment testing results. You'll also begin to build your class schedule with Century
counselors and take a guided tour of the campus.
-
Registration for classes
You'll have an opportunity to search for open sections and register for courses that meet your educational objectives. Counselors, staff, and student ambassadors will be on hand to assist you.
Attendance
All new students are required to attend a New Student Orientation session. Students who do not attend an orientation session will not be able to register for courses until late registration,
which is done on a walk-in basis. (Courses are limited during late registration.)
Arrive on time
Please be on time for your orientation session and bring all required materials.
NOTE: If you arrive more than ten minutes late or are missing the required orientation materials, you will not be admitted and will need to sign up for another session.
Transfer students
If you plan to transfer credits into Century from another institution or only want to take 1-2 classes, send
your official college transcripts directly to Transfer Services.
Upon receipt of your transcript(s) you may be eligible to view the online orientation.
If you attend orientation on campus, bring an unofficial copy of your transcripts to orientation. This is not a requirement; however,
your unofficial transcripts will be helpful to the staff assisting you with registration.
International students
As an international student, you are also required to attend an information session to meet your international student advisor.
Please refer to your Century College acceptance letter for more details about the information session.
What to bring
- Your Century College acceptance letter, which contains your Student I.D. and PIN number.
You will need this information at registration.
- Your Accuplacer assessment test results. If you took the assessment test at another
institution, make sure to have a copy of your results sent to Century College or bring a copy of your results with you to orientation.
- A form of photo identification for check-in purposes.
