STEP 1:  ASSESS YOURSELF

                                Step 1       Step 2        Step 3         Step 4

Clear and complete knowledge of yourself
is one important key to your successful
career decision-making process.  Step 1
assists you to look inward and discover
information about yourself.  To deepen
your awareness, consider routing through
some or all of the links below.

Consider connecting in person with your
Century College Counselor as you enter
or complete Step 1 (call (651)
779-3285 for an appointment).

Be sure to print out all useful information
Gathered in Step 1, or save it in your eFolio. You will
be using it once you route your way to Step 4.

Note:  No one assessment can accurately portray your individuality and no one assessment is necessarily better than another.  Take several, rather than one or two, and let your intuition judge their results.

Values
Learn more about what brings energy, meaning and purpose to your life.  Clarifying your most important values can help you to feel better about your work and yourself.

Interests
What kinds of activities, subjects or fields are you attracted to?  Knowing your interests is another key to career satisfaction.

Personality

Skills
What skills do you currently possess?  You will find that this aspect of your self-assessment does change continually as you gain experience, practice and training.

Self-Reflections
Here you will find a set of unique, probing questions that may help open up new routes related to your career choice.
