Desire2Learn FAQ
What is Desire2Learn?
Desire 2Learn (D2L) is the online learning system used at all MnSCU colleges, including
Century. Your instructor will use D2L in any fully online course, or may use it as
a supplement to your on-campus course.
Whether or not your instructor uses D2L, all enrolled students have access to D2L, including:
- Class list of fellow students
- Instructor’s email addresses
- Classmates’ email addresses
- Course listings and materials (if applicable)

If your situation requires immediate action you can call our Help Specialists at 651-779-3295 during business hours, or stop by either one of our
Computer Center locations during business hours.
D2L Username and Passwords
When logging into Desire2Learn, please use the following format:
Username:
8-digit Student ID Number (including the leading zeros).
Password:
Determined by one of the methods listed below:
- Your birth date in the format YYMMDD (e.g. July 4, 1976 is 760704)
- The last six digits of your social security number
- The last four digits of your social security number
- A self-generated password you created
If you are having trouble with your password, use
this link to have the system email it to you.
