Each of the eight Century College Academic Pathways provides you with special learning opportunities and activities, along with personalized guidance from an academic advisor or counselor.     Century's accounting program prepares you for a variety of positions, from an entry-level job as a clerk to a manager in an accounts payable, accounts receivable or payroll department.
  • Arts and humanities pathway icon
    The Associate of Fine Arts Degree in Fine Art (AFA) is a two-year transferable degree that empowers and prepares students for the rigor of a four-year Art or Design Bachelor of Fine Art or Bachelor of Art Degree. The AFA Fine Art degree curriculum resembles the first two years of a baccalaureate Art or Design degree at a 4-year college or university ensuring smooth transition our transfer partner institutions. (60 credits)

    Century College offers a Business Transfer Pathway Associate in Science (AS) degree and a Business Management Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree.
  • Arts and humanities pathway icon
    Career Studies courses provide students with decision making abilities to be successful in education, industry and life. Students can pursue Career Studies as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits).

    Students can pursue Chinese as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits).

    Century's English Department offers a range of courses to meet your academic and transfer goals, including: literature, creative writing, and composition. All students are valued, so we work to provide the academic support that is right for you. You can study English as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits) and you can also pursue an English-Creative Writing Certificate.

    Century's English as a Second Language (ESOL) classes are not just for college students; many students take ESOL classes for career and personal advancement. Students can study ESOL as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits) or for a certificate.

    Humanities is the study of the creative contributions made by individuals from many cultures throughout history. Students can study Humanities as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits).
  • Arts and humanities pathway icon
    The Individualized Studies awards include those that are undeclared, students that have earned some credits but did not complete an award, transfer students with credits that may not have equivalent Century credits, students that wish to explore more than one program, and student with experience that may result in credit for prior learning.

    Marketing is the business function that identifies unfilled consumer needs and wants, defines and measures their magnitude, determines which targeted market segments the business can best serve, and decides on appropriate products, services, and programs to deliver to them.
  • Arts and humanities pathway icon
    This program is a focused, two-year study of music that includes music theory, ear training, sight singing, music history, the study of a specific instrument or voice, and ensemble participation.

    The Office Technology program encourages an active, hands-on learning environment that helps you develop the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare you for tomorrow’s job market.

    The Medical Office program prepares you to perform key functions in almost any medical office environment. The medical office technology program prepares you for today’s medical office responsibilities with knowledge in medical terms and anatomy as well as keyboarding, word processing, communications, filing and interpersonal relations.

    The Philosophy Department at Century College offers you a wide variety of courses to help meet your academic and transfer goals. Students can study Philosophy as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits).

    Century’s Reading/Student Success Department offers quality courses designed for students to develop and use effective reading and college success strategies that will help students be more effective, efficient and successful in college and beyond. Students can study Reading as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits).

    Learning a foreign language gives you a window into cross-cultural understanding by providing you with a fundamental tool: the ability to communicate directly with speakers of other languages. Students can study Spanish as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits).

    The Century Theatre Arts Department prepares you to enter the exciting world of theatre (or theater) and entertainment. Students can study Theatre as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits) or an AFA as part of the Minnesota Transfer Pathway, leading directly to a Bachelor's degree.
