Each of the six Century College Academic Pathways provides you with special learning opportunities and activities, along with personalized guidance from an academic advisor or counselor.   • Liberal arts pathway icon
    The Academic English Proficiency Certificate recognizes non-native English- speaking students for study in multiple discipline areas leading to proficiency in academic English, communication skills, and discipline terminology which will assist them in succeeding in personal, educational, and professional goals.
  • Human services pathway icon
    The Addiction Counseling program is designed for career opportunities in entry-level positions in the field of chemical dependency counseling. You will be prepared for the written examination, which is required for state licensure.
  • Liberal arts pathway icon
    Students can pursue Anthropology as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits).

    Students can study Art as part of an Associate in Fine Arts Degree (60 credits).
  • Liberal arts pathway icon
    The Associate in Arts degree (AA) is intended primarily for students who plan to transfer to another college to complete a bachelor's degree.

    Career Studies courses provide students with decision making abilities to be successful in education, industry and life. Students can pursue Career Studies as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits).

  • Liberal arts pathway icon
    The awards available in Communication Studies, including a Certificate and an AA (part of the Minnesota Transfer Pathways) prepare students for the demands of communication-rich workplaces.

    As a Creative Writing student at Century College, you can explore fiction, poetry, screenwriting, and creative nonfiction in a supportive community. The English-Creative Writing Certificate offers preparation if you wish to study Creative Writing at a four-year institution, but also complements career goals which demand skills in editing, critical thinking, and cooperation. This program provides a concentrated course of study in creative writing as part of the AA, AS, or AFA Degree of your choice.

    This program helps prepare students for the rigors of the criminal justice profession and advancement of knowledge of the criminal justice system. Program curriculum includes criminal law and procedure, policing, investigation, corrections and juvenile justice.

    The Education program provides both the foundation for upper division coursework for those planning to become teachers, as well as opportunities to earn either a certificate or associates degree in Paraeducation.

    Century's English Department offers a range of courses to meet your academic and transfer goals, including: literature, creative writing, and composition. All students are valued, so we work to provide the academic support that is right for you. You can study English as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits) and you can also pursue an English-Creative Writing Certificate.

Students can study History as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits) and part of the Minnesota State Transfer Pathway degrees, leading directly to a Bachelor's degree.

    In this hands-on educational program, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the attitudes, thoughts and feelings of working as a human services generalist and gain direct experience with human service consumers and agencies through internships and class experiences.

    Humanities is the study of the creative contributions made by individuals from many cultures throughout history. Students can study Humanities as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits).

    The Individualized Studies awards include those that are undeclared, students that have earned some credits but did not complete an award, transfer students with credits that may not have equivalent Century credits, students that wish to explore more than one program, and student with experience that may result in credit for prior learning.

    The Law Enforcement program is primarily designed to meet the professional and educational needs of students interested in becoming licensed peace officers.

    The scope of mathematics at Century College is broad, stretching from prehistoric times to the frontiers of cyberspace. Students can study Mathematics as part of a Liberal Arts and Sciences AA Degree (60 credits).

    The Mental Health Behavioral Aide II Certificate provides psychology coursework that applies to a variety of entry-level careers in mental health.

    This program is a focused, two-year study of music that includes music theory, ear training, sight singing, music history, the study of a specific instrument or voice, and ensemble participation.

    The Paraeducator program is a pre-professional program providing an essential core of education courses and experiences. It prepares individuals for work as educational paraprofessionals.

    This program is designed to provide an interdisciplinary approach for individuals already working in the field and those interested in pursuing career opportunities in public safety, which includes emergency medical services (EMS), firefighting, emergency management, dispatching/communications, leadership/management, and public safety education.

    The spoken language Translation and Interpreting (TRIN) Program is designed to educate bilingual students who wish to develop professional interpreting skills and prepare for careers in our increasingly diverse communities.
