Coach: Jay Kam
This is Jay Kam's first year as Head Coach. He grew up playing volleyball in Japan where attention to detail is a game in itself. In recent years, he has taught volleyball to a number of students at various levels.
Coach Kam’s desire for the program extends beyond volleyball and athletic performance. His goal for his players is to help them succeed in college. Research has shown that participating in athletics increases student retention and success. Going to college and taking this next step in your life can be overwhelming. By being part of a team you will meet new people and make the whole process more enjoyable. His job is to not only to recruit and coach a competitive volleyball team, but also to be a counselor and advisor to the players and help them through their two years at Century College and move on to the next journey in their lives.
Coach Kam also teaches in the Physical Education Department and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Exercise Science from Seattle Pacific University and his Masters of Arts (M.A.) in Physical Education from Mankato State University.
