Nora Slawik

Executive Director


Nora Slawik joined the Century College Foundation as Executive Director in June of 2020. She oversees development, alumni, private foundation grants and scholarship programs for the college. She has the privilege of working with a dedicated board of directors, staff and campus leadership. She is involved in many aspects of external relations in the community - building business and industry partnerships. Nora has a BS from Arizona State University in recreation administration with an emphasis on nonprofit management and a MPA from the Humphrey School, University of Minnesota.

Nora leverages her extensive relationship and institutional experience as an east metro seven term legislator, twice elected mayor of Maplewood and appointee of Governor Walz as the Chair of the Metropolitan Council. Her fundraising background includes working as a Development Officer for the University of Arizona, a campaign manager for the United Way and in events and corporate relations for the Boy Scouts. Nora’s son attended Century College. She values the excellent faculty and strong core classes he completed to transfer to Augsburg College where he finished his degree to become a successful special education teacher.

She spends her free time with her husband and adult children boating and fishing up north, walking around the lakes and biking.


Jessica Ward

Foundation and President’s Office Administrative Assistant


Jessica Ward joined Century College in 2019 as the Foundation and President’s Office Administrative Assistant. In her role, she oversees the scholarship program and helps coordinate foundation events such as Futures in Bloom and the Scholarship Banquet. She is also a co-chair of the Graduation Workgroup. Prior to Century College, Jessica worked at Minneapolis Community and Technical College in the Continuing Education department where she oversaw the bi-annual course catalog and social media marketing. She is an alumna of Century College and holds a BA in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling the globe, writing, and doing art.

Andrea Steen

Director of Alumni Relations


Andrea Steen joined the Century College Foundation as Director of Alumni Relations in 2017. In her role, she oversees and develops events, programs, and partnership opportunities for alumni. Since her arrival, Andrea has revived Century’s Alumni Association by increasing outreach, creating new programming and events, and launching several benefits for alumni not previously used in the Minnesota State system. Previously, Andrea served the Minnesota State system office for 5 years in the areas of marketing, communications, government relations, event planning, and project management. She holds a BA in Communication from UW-Madison, a Master’s of Nonprofit and Public Administration from Metropolitan State University, and a CAPM certification in project management from PMI.

Trina Brinda

Foundation Financial Specialist


Trina Brinda joined the Century College Foundation in November 2014. Her current job title is Foundation Financial Specialist. In her role, she oversees the recordkeeping and database management, financial reporting, processing of gifts, filing management, and annual audit process. She is also involved in fundraising events and the scholarship banquet. Previously, she worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant for 15 years for Sister Kenny Sports and Physical Therapy Centers (now known as Courage Kenny Sports and Physical Therapy). After her professional healthcare career, she started a plumbing business with her husband for 14 years as owner and office manager. She is an alumna of College of St. Catherine’s and Century College’s office technology program. Her enjoyments in life are spending time with family and friends, watching her son play baseball for Luther College, vacations, exercise, nature, reading, and music.
