Experience: Ms. Labey has more than 7 years of experience as a nurse in Acute and Sub-Acute care. She has worked in the healthcare field for 10 years. She recently completed her Master's degree in Nursing to further her career in both nursing leadership and education. Ms. Labey currently works in the hospital as a general medicine acute care nurse as well as a sexual assault nurse examiner.
Teaching Approach: "I enjoy mentoring students through school and helping them navigate their work/school and life balance. I believe learning can be fun and I want the students to enjoy the time they spend with me in the classroom and at the hospital."

Experience: Shari Lambrecht attended 916 Vocational Technical College and received her diploma as a Medical Assistant in 1984. She is certified through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) and has maintained current through continuing education. Shari worked in an ambulatory care facility as a Certified Medical Assistant for 20 years and provided clinical, laboratory and x-ray skills to patients before coming to Century College. In Fall Semester 2005, she started working as a CLA 2 and became an Instructor in Spring Semester 2006. Shari teaches hybrid courses in Clinical and Laboratory courses as well as Administrative Procedures, which is taught on campus. She has completed the Teacher Education Series (TES) in the spring of 2008 at the University of Minnesota. Courses included: Introduction to Vocational Teaching, Foundations of Instructional Methods, Course Development, Student Assessment and Philosophy and Practice of Career and Technical Education.
Teaching Approach: "As an Instructor, my goal is to create a learning environment that is beneficial to active and engaged learning. I strive to create a safe space for learning and to make the educational experience fun. My style of teaching is practical and occasionally humorous, which i believe leads to a collaborative learning process that benefits everyone involved."

Notable Achievements: Shari is a member of the AAMA, is CPR certified, Certified as an Adult Mental Health First Aid Responder and she serves on two committees: Medical Assistant Advisory Committee and Mental Health Committee.

Experience: Dr. Lewis has 25 years of experience as an instructor of composition and American Literature. He has 15 years as an instructor of Gender Studies, three years of experience as the editor of MCTE Journal, and is the current Assistant Chair of TYCA-Midwest.
Teaching Approach: "I use a very interactive teaching approach. My writing classes are taught in a computer lab, so students can do writing in class and share their work with each other. My literature courses include a lot of discussion and presentation. And my gender studies courses include a social activism project in which students do work in their communities related to gender studies issues."

Experience: Teresa has been teaching chemistry at the college level since 2007. From 2002-2007, she performed chemical research as a 3M Fellow in the fields of kinetics, materials chemistry, computational chemistry, and biochemistry.
Teaching Approach: "I know the impact one caring instructor can have on a student, so I strive to make a connection with every student taking one of my courses. I am passionate about chemistry, and I hope to inspire my students to think about the world in a new and more magical way. I know that "surviving" a chemistry course isn't always easy, but I hope it's at least a little bit fun."
