Banned Books Week 2018

Banned Book Week is this week, September 24^th – September 29^th, and we are celebrating at Century Library!

What’s to celebrate?
Your freedom, to read whatever you’d like.

The titles on display in Century Library during Banned Books Week have been targeted for removal or restriction in libraries and schools. The goal of Banned Books Week is to draw attention to the harm of censorship. This week brings together librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and books lovers of all kinds in support of the freedom to seek and express ideas, even if those ideas are unorthodox or unpopular.

Take a minute to see if any of your favorite books have been banned, then register to win some banned books gear.
This year we are giving away a travel tumbler, t-shirt and a pair of very bookish socks.
