Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is an exciting, suspenseful, and engaging tale of intrigue. Jeffrey Hatcher’s adaptation presents the audience with a kaleidoscopic visualization and understanding of the raging Mr. Edward Hyde’s character who erupts from the soul of the cultured and controlled Dr. Henry Jekyll as a result of mind-altering experiments and chemicals Jekyll imposed upon himself in his Victorian laboratory. In Hatcher’s adaptation, we meet four Mr. Hydes who each project a varying shade of self, but whom are all part of a single alternative personality of the brilliant Dr. Jekyll.
With sets that swiftly move on and off the stage, dialogue and action that is non-stop, beautiful period costumes, and stage lighting that vividly accent and illuminate the suspense, this production takes the audience on a riveting story-telling journey through fog-filled Victorian London just in time for the hallowed evenings of late October and early November.
