Nominations for the 2017 Minnesota State Board of Trustees Educator of the Year Award for Excellence in Teaching program are now open.  The annual awards recognize exceptional faculty professional accomplishment.

Since 2007, the board has recognized 314 faculty as outstanding eductors, and 39 of those have been honored with this award.  Every year, campus committees review nominations and select finalists to forward to their college presidents, who then designate faculty as outstanding educators to the Board of Trustees.

Criteria for evaluation includes teaching strategies and materials, content expertise and professional growth, assessment of student learning and performance, and service to students, the profession, the institution and the system.

Award nominations are due November 17, 2016.
