Top Medical Assistant Programs Badge

The Century College Medical Assistant program was recently named the #1 ranked Medical Assistant program in the nation by TopMedicalAssistantPrograms.org, and was the only Medical Assistant program in Minnesota to rank in the top 30.

The #1 ranking was based on a combination of data and metrics, including graduation rates, retention rates and tuition rates.

According to TopMedicalAssistantPrograms.org, Medical assisting schools that had low costs, high graduation and retention rates and minimal differences in tuition fees attained the highest ranking.

In addition, all schools considered for this ranking are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) - many are accredited by multiple accrediting agencies and all data was gathered from Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), or a school's website if IPEDS data was available.

"This was an unexpected recognition, but we feel that it reinforces the quality of our faculty, students and facilities," states Michelle Blesi, Medical Assistant Program Director. "Students that enroll in the Medical Assistant program at Century College are going to receive a high-quality, affordable education that will prepare them for a rewarding, high-demand career,"

The Medical Assistant program at Century College is designed for career opportunities as a professional, multi-skilled person dedicated to assisting in patient care management. The medical assistant performs clinical, laboratory, and administrative skills in clinics, doctor offices, and other health care agencies.

The Medical Assistant program offers daytime and online classes during the fall and daytime, evening, and online classes during the Spring. The program is accredited and only requires 51 credit hours total along with an unpaid 300-hour externship under the supervision of a physician. Graduates are eligible to take the Certification Exam of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
