The Cosmetology program at Century College in White Bear Lake, Minnesota provides you with an affordable education to prepare you for an exciting career in the Cosmetology industry. A leader in Cosmetology education in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and St. Paul area), the Century College Cosmetology degree and/or diploma will prepare you for your license in Cosmetology, and put you on a path to earning a good wage in a career that you’ll love. Students will: 

  • Express individual creativity by providing a wide range of artistic hair, nail, and skincare services using the latest technology, trends, and name-brand products
  • Operate and manage a full-service interactive salon and spa

The Century College Cosmetology program offers you incredible value. You will save thousands of dollars by earning your Cosmetology degree and/or diploma at Century College compared to private, for-profit colleges or beauty schools.

While attending the Cosmetology program you will have unique opportunities to gain “real-world” experience while earning your education. Our on-site Cosmetology Salon 120 is open to the public, giving you the opportunity to work with a variety of clients. The Cosmetology program also provides you the chance to take part in industry competitions and gain leadership training via the SkillsUSA program.

  • Skin care, makeup and waxing

Nail Care Technician

The Nail Care Technician certificate at Century College is a short-term program that will prepare you for licensure as a Nail Care Technician. In the program, you will be instructed in nail care theory and practical application techniques including:

  • Shaping
  • Polishing
  • Massage of hands and feet
  • Application of gel polish artificial nails

The completion of the Cosmetology degree, diploma or Nail Care Technician certificate will prepare you for the State of Minnesota written exam and certification of skills as required by Minnesota cosmetology laws and rules for licensure.

Esthetics Services Certificate

Currently, this program is intended ONLY for students who have previous coursework in Cosmetology or Esthetics from a high school program or transfer educational program. This program is NOT intended for new Cosmetology or Esthetic Services students who have no previous COS coursework/credits. Completion of the program enrollment checklist is required prior to course registration. Students are required to have previously completed at least two of the courses listed in the certificate in a licensed Cosmetology or Esthetics high school program, or gain permission from an instructor.     As a two-year public community and technical college, Century College receives funding from the State of Minnesota, keeping tuition rates significantly lower than private colleges and universities. With affordable tuition rates and financial aid and scholarship opportunities, our students avoid student loan debt.

    Century College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and our programs quality for financial aid including grants, loans, and college work-study. Eligibility for financial aid is determined annually based on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Century College's Federal School Code is 010546.
